Takurua Vets welcomes expressions of interest from veterinary nurses who feel aligned with the direction of our clinic and the way we want to practise over time.
While we may not always be advertising an active nursing vacancy, we are always interested in hearing from capable nurses who value thoughtful medicine, calm patient care, and high clinical standards.
Veterinary nursing at Takurua Vets is hands-on, practical, and closely connected to the day-to-day clinical life of the clinic. Depending on experience, interest, and the needs of the team, this may include consult support, surgical nursing, anaesthesia monitoring, inpatient care, client communication, and general workflow support across a busy small animal environment.
As the clinic continues to grow, we are looking for nurses who can contribute not only technical skill, but also steadiness, warmth, good judgement, and a genuine commitment to patient welfare.
We welcome interest from veterinary nurses at different stages of their career, including those who are still developing confidence as well as those with substantial practical experience.
We would especially like to hear from nurses who value calm, capable patient care, communicate clearly, work well in a team, and take pride in being dependable, well organised, and proactive in their work. At Takurua Vets, veterinary nurses are involved across a broad range of responsibilities, including patient care, surgical support, anaesthesia monitoring, dental procedures such as scale and polish work, inpatient nursing, and client communication.
We also value nurses who take ownership of the practical systems that help the clinic run well, and who are interested in contributing to better processes, smoother operations, and a stronger day-to-day standard of care across the team.
Because our clinic also provides emergency and after-hours support, this role may suit nurses who are comfortable contributing to after-hours care and on-call support as part of a broader clinical team.
Takurua Vets is continuing to build around calm, thoughtful veterinary care, with a growing clinic-wide commitment to fear-free and pain-conscious practice. For nurses, this means being part of a team that is working to shape patient care around lower-stress handling, better recognition and treatment of pain, and a more considered clinical experience overall.
We are interested in people who value good medicine, good judgement, and a way of working that supports both patient welfare and sustainable clinical practice.
If you think Takurua Vets may be the right fit for you in the future, we would be happy to hear from you. An expression of interest can include your CV and a short note introducing yourself, your nursing background, and the kind of role or working environment you are looking for.
If a suitable opportunity arises, we may be in touch to continue the conversation.
