Jamira works as a veterinary nurse at Takurua Vets, where she provides hands-on care to patients, assists with surgeries, and supports the veterinary team in delivering the best possible treatment. She loves being part of an animal’s recovery journey and finds it deeply rewarding to see pets improve and families regain peace of mind knowing their companion is feeling better.
If Jamira was a dog she would be an Afghan Hound - calm, elegant, quietly independent, and deeply loyal to those she cares about. That steady nature is something clients quickly notice, as Jamira has a gentle way of making both pets and their people feel safe, welcome, and understood.
What Jamira loves most about animals is their individuality. Each pet has its own personality, and their honesty, trust, and unconditional love are what make the work so special to her. She finds it incredibly fulfilling to watch the bond between pets and their families grow stronger through the care the team provides.
At home, Jamira’s life is full of animals. She has four cats - Zephy the curious explorer, Murphy the mischievous sweetheart, Nova the calm and mysterious lounger, and Piezo the energetic wild card - as well as a charming Mini Lop rabbit named Jhin, who is calm, a little sneaky, and impossible not to adore.
Jamira is especially good at helping anxious pets settle in during their visits. She believes in giving them time to adjust, speaking softly, and using gentle handling to help them feel comfortable and safe in an unfamiliar environment.
If she could have any superpower it would be shapeshifting, her go-to snack is chocolate, and she is a devoted fan of Grey’s Anatomy - a show she feels captures the emotional side of caring for others in healthcare, something she connects with deeply in her own work.
