Charlotte is a veterinary nurse at Takurua Vets with a special interest in radiography and other imaging. She enjoys building her practical skills and using them to help patients when they need careful, capable support.
What Charlotte loves most about veterinary nursing is helping animals feel better and seeing them recover. She also values the part nurses play in supporting owners through both happy and difficult moments, especially when a calm and reassuring presence can make the visit feel less overwhelming.
If Charlotte were a dog, she would be a Greyhound: tall, calm, independent and very happy to chill out, with the occasional five minutes of zoomies before going straight back to napping. That steady nature is something clients and pets are likely to notice quickly. She is friendly, approachable and genuinely takes the time to let animals move at their own pace.
She is especially good at helping nervous pets feel safe. Charlotte uses calm handling, gentle techniques and plenty of patience, giving pets time to become comfortable with their surroundings before procedures whenever possible. She is also happy to answer questions and reassure owners along the way.
Charlotte does not have pets yet, but animals are a huge part of what she loves about life. She appreciates their trust, honesty and the way they offer love and support without judgement.
Outside of work, Charlotte is a serious reader with around 400 books at home. Choosing a favourite is difficult, but Fourth Wing and The Naturals are strong contenders. If she could have any superpower it would be x-ray vision, which feels fitting for a nurse with a love of imaging. Her go-to snack is prawn cocktail chips and a crisp Coke, and her favourite piece of advice is simple: listen to Taylor Swift, reset, and keep moving forward.
